Waikato paddle blades are a large asymmetrical shape and are
affixed onto a 29mm aluminium or fibreglass shaft.
The aluminium shaft has a black anodised coating to prevent
the paddler's hands turning black.
Waikato paddles are available as either a 1 piece or 2 piece
(take-apart) paddle.
Waikato blades are glued onto the shaft to give a water-tight seal
and inhibit water entering the paddle shaft. This ensures that
the paddles will float if dropped into the water.
